KunstKulturKirche Allerheiligen (Karte)
The Lost Art of Letter Writing is a new concert program using letters collected from people all over the world. The letters were sent to composers from Israel, Kenya, Chile, Germany and Columbia and the letters were inspiration for their compositions.
Esther Saladin (Cello), Deepa Goonetilleke (Horn), Shelly Ezra (Clarinet) perform works from Arnon Zimra, Talia Amar, Na’ama Tamir Kaplan, Juan David Pérez, Marcelo F. Lazcano und Nyokabi Kariũki.
Alongside the performances of these new pieces, Annika Merz will read extracts from the letters.
Illuminationen III - Frankfurt Connection
One of Trio Radial´s goals is to work with the younger generation of composers. What is also important is to continue to commission works from composers from the Frankfurt new music scene. In our Frankfurt Connection program, four students of the composition class of Michael Reudenbach and Orm Finnendahl from the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt have composed miniatures for the trio. Alongisde these works there will be two new compositions from the Australian composer Brenda Gifford and Frankfurt based composer, Raphaël Languillat.
Illuminationen II - Portrait Konzert Silvia Rosani
Silvia Rosani's music transfigures the past through the use of technology. A piece for chalumeau, the ancestor of the clarinet, preceeds a composition where household appliances transform into an electrical trio, which dialogue with the acoustic instruments in the tradition of cori spezzati. Audio feedback comes into play and colours the voice of the horn while, later, also making metal panels vibrate. DC and AC motors are handled like instruments and offers the opportunity to transuce electrical signals back into physical vibration, hence, deeply merging acoustic and electrical means of audio reproduction.
Illuminationen I - Eve Remembers
As artists, we have to take control of our own narrative and have the strength to take a stand, whether it be for gender discrimination, climate change or other social injustices.
With our new concert program, we are aiming to highlight the gender imbalance in classical contemporary music. We want to create an open and honest space to perform music which has been unseen and unheard.
Trio Radial has commissioned Elnaz Seyedi (IRN/GER) und Kotoka Suzuki (JPN/CAN), two composers who follow their own unique direction and musical styles. Alongside these two new works, music from Liza Lim, Yaz Lancaster and Hannah Hanbiel Choi will be performed.
